Their love was like the Sun and the Moon, they couldn’t be together even if they tried. They’d try to sneak a look at each other every now and then at twilight, but that’s the best they could do. The world just didn’t allow them to exist as one. The Sun burned with pain all day and waited for the Moon to come up, for the Moon was the only one who could quiet down his agony and make his life a little better, even if it were for a few moments before he unwillingly had to leave her and go away. The Moon then waited in the cold lonely night for the Sun to come up and embrace her for the few moments before she too had to go away into daylight. It was heartbreaking how these two would get lost into each other’s brilliance. The wait was always worth the few moments they stole for each other from the world though. They were worlds apart but would always find a way to sneak a look at the other, even if it were for a few tiny moments in the eternity that they called day and night. For them, the very definitions of the world didn’t apply. The light wasn’t bright enough for them and darkness was darker than dark. For light is just the absence of darkness and darkness, the absence of light. The Sun was absolutely blind in the day and it was only in the Moon’s presence that he could see, when all he saw was her beauty. For the Moon, the darkness was a reminder that the Sun would soon come up and make it all go away from her life. But the Sun also took her away with him.
The world smiled at itself with pride at how it took them away from each other every single time they would reach out and almost touch. The idiot didn’t realise that the very daylight it thought was separating the two was a way the Sun shielded the Moon from the sight of this unwitting world and kept her just for himself. He admired her, loved her, adored her and turned the world blind by his sheer brilliance. The Moon did the same by cunningly throwing a blanket over the world, keeping it in the dark as she set out for her romance with her beloved Sun. They kept each other for themselves, hidden from the ignorant puny world down below because love can be kept apart, but it can’t be made to die out if the lovers decide that it’s theirs to keep.

This is beautiful.
I especially love the ending… love does require 2 things essentially will and effort.
Well done!
