When the day made way for the night,
And the moon shone bright and gray,
He sat down there with teary eyes,
And watched his world slip away.

Teardrops fell with a silent scream,
And the heart, it felt no beat
Dreams that once filled it up
Were shattered at his feet.

His soul then screamed for a single glance
Of that once beloved sight,
Those eyes with oceans in them
Would wet the entire night.

It poured and poured and brewed up a storm
The screams subdued by its thunder,
Further into the abyss he went
And that is where he found her.

Pieces of his broken heart
Lay bare upon the drenched land,
One by one he picked them up
And held them in his bleeding hands.

The time had come to say goodbye
The love did finally sway,
And as she put the weight on her hand
He watched his world slip away…
